Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a mechanical joint having five degrees of freedom. In some embodiments, the mechanical joint includes a first triangular linkage and a second triangular linkage. The first triangular linkage includes: a base end configured to be hingedly coupled to the first body to pivot relative to the first body; and an apex end including a first rotating member. The second triangular linkage includes: a base end configured to be hingedly coupled to the second body to pivot relative to the second body; and an apex end including a second rotating member. The first rotating member and the second rotating member are rotatably coupled to form a ball joint. By means of the joint, the second body can move in two translational degrees of freedom relative to the first body and is limited in one translational degree of freedom. Such a configuration allows for vertical movement and/or reduction of stresses on the joint.
