The sensing unit comprises a camera and a millimeter wave radar; the processing unit comprises a calculation module, the calculation module is provided with a video interface and a CAN interface, the camera is electrically connected with the calculation module through the video interface, and the millimeter wave radar is electrically connected with the calculation module through the CAN interface. According to the identification system and the identification method provided by the invention, surrounding vehicles, surrounding pedestrians, other dangerous obstacles and the like can be identified in the driving process of the automobile, possible collision risks around the automobile can be monitored in real time, a driver is reminded to take avoidance measures in advance, traffic accidents are reduced and even avoided as much as possible, and the driving safety is improved. And the active safety in the automobile driving process is improved.
