A peripheral vehicle position estimation system according to the present invention is configured to comprise: a relative position information acquisition unit that acquires a relative orientation of a peripheral vehicle present in the periphery of a host vehicle with respect to the host vehicle; a map information acquisition unit that acquires map information around the current position of the host vehicle; and a peripheral vehicle position estimation unit that, on the basis of the map information, acquires a peripheral road overlapping a straight line extending from the host vehicle toward the relative orientation, and estimates that the peripheral vehicle is present on the peripheral road.
