The invention discloses a power battery and an active and passive composite equalization circuit thereof, the power battery comprises M modules connected in series, each module comprises N single cells connected in series, M and N are integers greater than 1, and M is a positive integer greater than 1. The equalization circuit comprises at least two of a first-stage equalization circuit arranged corresponding to each single cell, a second-stage equalization circuit arranged corresponding to each module and a third-stage equalization circuit arranged corresponding to a plurality of modules, and the first-stage equalization circuit is used for performing passive equalization between the single cells; the secondary equalization circuit is used for carrying out active equalization among the single battery cells; and the three-stage equalization circuit is used for performing active equalization between the modules. Therefore, the first-stage equalization circuit, the second-stage equalization circuit and the third-stage equalization circuit are utilized, and active and passive composite equalization between any single battery cells and between any modules is met at the same time, so that the equalization efficiency of the power battery is improved.
