The invention discloses an elastic friction piece for an elevator and an abrasion loss judging method. The invention discloses the elastic friction piece for the elevator, and the elastic friction piece comprises an elastic body and a plurality of rigid beads. The elastic body has an outer friction surface for contact with a rigid member. The plurality of rigid beads are embedded into the elasticbody. When the elastic friction piece is worn out until the rigid beads are exposed, the rigid member can make contact with and collide with the rigid beads and make contact and collision sound. Whenthe contact and collision sound between the rigid member and the rigid beads is received, elevator maintainers judge that the elastic friction piece is excessively abraded and needs to be replaced. Therefore, whether the elastic friction piece is excessively abraded or not and needs to be replaced can be conveniently judged without disassembling an elevator speed governor. In addition, the runningsafety of an elevator is further improved.
