Model tests and measured mile trials were carried out on three Belgian cross-channel twin-screw motor ships, including two passenger ships (Koningin Elisabeth and Reine Astrid) and car ferry Roi Baudouin; three ships were equipped with torsionmeters, two of them had thrustmeters installed; measured-mile trial data were satisfactory and this allowed Centre Belge de Recherches Navales to carry out compared analysis of propulsive properties of three ships in smooth water.
