Capacities were derived from average departure headway of vehicles as they enter intersection area; 3 right-angle intersections in Chicago Metropolitan Area were observed and analyzed; average headway of departure was obtained, and effects on capacity of left- and right-turning vehicles, number of lanes on cross-street, and split in volumes between intersecting streets, were determined; only daytime driving characteristics were observed; movie-camera technique of study was used.
