The present invention relates to a vehicle following travel system in which following vehicles (2) are sequentially connected to a leading vehicle (1) in a non-mechanical manner, and each of the following vehicles travels by following a immediately preceding vehicle that travels in front, on the basis of an allowable maximum vehicle speed (V2max) of the following vehicle (2) that satisfies the turning travel performance of the following vehicle (2). A limited vehicle speed (V1max) for limiting the speed of the leading vehicle (1) is determined, and the brake device and the drive device are controlled such that the speed of the leading vehicle (1) does not exceed the limited vehicle speed (V1max).
