The invention relates to the technical field of robots and particularly relates to a metal surface wall-climbing robot. The robot comprises a driving mechanism, a transmission mechanism, an absorptionmechanism and a steering mechanism, wherein the driving mechanism comprises a direct-current motor, a driving shaft and a driving gear, one end of the driving shaft is connected with an output end ofthe direct-current motor, the transmission mechanism comprises a transmission shaft, a transmission gear and a driving wheel, the driving wheel is meshed with a caterpillar band to drive the caterpillar band to move, the transmission gear is arranged on the transmission shaft in a sleeving mode and meshed with the driving gear, the absorption mechanism comprises a permanent magnet arranged on thecaterpillar band, the steering mechanism comprises a steering motor and a guide wheel, the steering motor and the guide wheel are arranged in a machine shell, and a guide shaft of the guide wheel isconnected with an output end of the steering motor. The robot is advantaged in that the robot is suitable for situations that a wall surface is uneven, protrusions exist on the wall surface, paint spraying is uneven, wall surface rusts or weld joints need to be passed and the like, and can replace human beings to work under dangerous working conditions or in environments where people cannot enter.
