A new evaluator for monopulse secondary surveillance radar has been presented. This equipment is part of a new concept in radar evaluation, the real-time quality control approach, that uses the advantages of each of the traditional approaches: the low cost, remote operation and statistical strength that have the off-line tools and the reliability and flexibility of on-site tools. The paper has proved the viability of such an approach, the simplicity of using a graphical PC interface for developing an scenario for the tests and, moreover, the tests done with real radar systems have shown the capabilities of the equipment and the saving due to the no longer necessity of test flights for a great amount of tasks. The equipment also uses its tracking capabilities to get validated results of problems previously difficult to study such as garbling and false plots.
