In this paper, an analog retina based stereo vision system for car navigation is presented. This stereo vision system uses two charge-mode spatio-frequential visual feature extraction retina to obtain matching primitives and a digital processor to do stereo matching and disparity computation. By using the quarter-cycle rule, all the computations are local, either implemented in parallel on feature extraction retina or on digital processor. A prototype system has shown a potential performance of 400 images per second at 256x256 resolution.
