The results of 12 years of outdoor corrosion testing of steel sheet coated with 5 % AL-Zn plus Mischmetal are presented. It was observed that in severe marine environment, coating thickness losses are initially greater for conventional galvanized sheet that for steel sheet coated with 5 % Al-Zn plus MM. It was also observed that conventional galvanized sheet is more durable than steel sheet coated with 5 % Al-Zn plus MM. The results show that there is no significance differences in corrosion rates of a conventional galvanized coating and a 5 % Al-Zn + MM coatings.
