Discusses the use of artificial intelligence in the development of autonomous battlefield robots. The example used to illustrate the concept is an anti-armor robot. The system comprises four major subsystems: the mission module, the platform, the guidance and control group, and the man-machine interface. Recent advances in sensor technology have been particularly significant in the area of target classification which can be performed by signature analysis.
