Used for command and logistic purposes, the messages are transmitted via telephone, telegraph, data links, facsimile systems, and so on. Radio communications equipment must meet a variety of requirements ranging from the ability to withstand the harshest climatic and physical environments to easy maintenance, by way of ease of operation, ready integration into the weaponry, and high reliability. In addition, it must be capable of integration into different communication networks demanded by changing battlefield situations.
