Land forces must take advantage of the information revolution that has already taken place in the other services. For instance, the cockpit display in an F/A-18 fighter is unmatched in terms of its ability to call up data and upply situation displays. That level of information hasn't arrived yet for tanks and infantry fighting vehicles that must operate in the direct-fire zone, in immediate danger of destruction.
