Simulation training programs involving flight simulators should be completely integrated into the Aircrew Training Program. Tasks developed for simulation programs should include all tasks that can be completely or partially trained in the simulator. Special emphasis in the simulation program should be directed to training those tasks that are hazardous to aircrew or aircraft in the real world environment. These hazardous tasks are characterized by contigency or emergency events in flight procedures. A Training Task Hierarchy is developed covering the range of possible training in the simulator, listing those tasks completely trainable, those tasks partially trainable, and those tasks that are not trainable. In many cases these tasks can be simulated with sufficient fidelity in the simulator to allow complete crew training without the hazards to aircrew or aircraft found in a real world environment.
