Due to increasing speed of the train, axle load, and traffic density, slab track comes out to be a better solution to deal with the problem of conventional ballasted track in terms of maintenance and structural behavior. This paper presents a review of different slab track design using worldwide and comparison has been done with conventional ballasted track. Parametric study has also been done to find the stress in various component of high-speed railway track structure using ANSYS. This paper is divided into two sections. First section deals with the designs and development of high-speed slab track, factor affecting the design criteria of high-speed slab track and comparison of ballastless track with ballasted track. The second section includes parametric investigation high-speed track under stationary loading conditions using ANSYS software based on finite element method. Stress in each component of slab track structure has been evaluated by varying the stiffness of rail pad, modulus of CBL, CAM layer, and subgrade. These studies are helpful for designing and maintaining the high-speed slab track.
