This paper describes a system employed in the analysis of an airplane to predict reliability “ before the fact.” Use of the word “ before the fact.” implies a “ before the fact.” examination in contrast to usual “ before the fact.” “ before the fact.” which builds from the bottom up. The importance of making reliability concepts useful to the designer early in the program is emphasized. A simple, useful, effective method of achieving the specified reliability is discussed. The method is demonstrated, with an example, and includes a moderate amount of basic reliability mathematics. It is concluded that the system can be adapted to any program.
