Paper introduces system called PRIDE (Programmed Reliability in Design), developed at Ryan Aerospace, for application to fan-in-wing V/STOL airplane; method of achieving specified reliability is demonstrated, with example, and includes moderate amount of basic reliability mathematics; system can be adapted to any program.
