The air-ground communication channel is commonly considered to be fairly benign in terms of risk of disruption, particularly in comparison to terrestrial channels such as those of cellular transmissions, in which obstructions and multiple signal paths can severely attenuate and distort transmitted signals. Here, Matolak discusses the air-to-ground channel measurements of unmanned aircraft.
