The report presents results obtained from testing at the G. A. Riedesel Pavement Testing Facility at Washington State University during the period of November 20, 1972 to May 1, 1973. The study determines pavement wear caused by studded tires; evaluates the resistance of different pavement overlays used in the states of Washington and Idaho to wear caused by tire studs; and tests pavement materials and overlays to reduce tire stud damage.
