The findings of a study are presented as they relate to each of the following objectives: To provide a comprehensive vehicular pollution emissions by using gaseous fuels in commercially available engine systems; To examine the logistics of gaseous fuels to assess the availability, cost, storage and handling methods and safety requirements of gaseous fuels; To determine the feasibility of using natural gas as a supplementary fuel in a two stroke cycle, diesel powered intercity bus as a means of reducing exhaust pollution while operating in urban areas and bus terminals; To recommend specific research and development programs necessary to confirm or establish the low emission characteristics and economic feasibility of selected gaseous fueled vehicular engine systems.
