The CAD Division Test Branch at the Naval Ordnance Station, Indian Head, Maryland, conducts cartridge leak tests in accordance with MIL-STD-331 (Test 118) and MIL-D-21625 to determine if any gas leak exists in the seal of a given cartridge. This report summarizes the theory and basic operation of the leak test equipment and details the procedures used at Indian Head. (Author)
