U S Naval Underwater Ordnance Station (NUOS) is active in development of new weapons and techniques for detection, tracking and destruction of enemy submarines, and improvement of ASW weapon systems in service use; laboratory and other facilities are mentioned; research on torpedoes, target detection and weapons support is discussed in general, with some specific notes, e.g., that thermal power plant was designed and feasibility of using seawater as coolant in propulsion system of such torpedo demonstrated.
