The completion of this relief route will help to ease the congestion in downtown Holbrook. The primary impact of this project on environment is economic, involving the effects on tourist oriented trades. The scarring of the hilly terrain through which the highway passes cannot be avoided. Some land suitable for residential subdivision will be committed to use for the roadway and the introduction of traffic noise and fumes into what is now a residential area will have a mild deteriorating effect. Some mineral resources from areas adjacent to the highway will be used in construction.
