This document contains an edited version of the syllabus used to train airport screeners on how to operate and resolve alarms on the CTX 5000 Explosives Detection System. The training took place within the context of the Airport Demonstration Project, currently on-going at 3 airports: San Francisco, Atlanta, and Manila, Philippines. The actual syllabus used to train screeners at the demonstration sites differed in site-specific ways from the edited version presented here. The objectives of the training course were to provide screeners with the necessary skills and knowledge to competently operate the CTX 5000. This syllabus describes all aspects of the training curriculum, including screener performance objectives, materials and equipment required for the course, the structure of lesson and final evaluations, and the classroom training agenda.
