Among the design characteristics of nuclear-powered ships should be the following: disposition of the reactor with the primary circuit in the container device; collision protection of the side in the region of the reactor compartment; and bottom protection of the reactor compartment in case of running aground. The main design characteristics of nuclear-powered ships are determined by the measures directed toward increasing the operational safety of these ships.
