Differences between requirements for nuclear vessels and traditional type of ship, both from cargo handling point of view and precautions necessary against nuclear hazard while vessels are in port; requirements to be met by docks of today, and new type of port; there seems no reason why nuclear vessels employing conventional handling methods cannot be dealt with at many existing berths; progress will need to be made step by step and statutory powers will be necessary before nuclear vessels become regular feature of port operations.
