This paper deals with the maneuverability of the high speed boat with twin screws and twin rudders. In order to investigate the effects of rudder and skeg on the maneuverability of ship, turning and impulse tests were conducted on 2.5 m model, varying the shape of her rudders and skegs systematically. The results of these experiments were shown as the practical data for the designer of the high speed boat. Turning test on the actual ship with a certain set of rudders and skeg was carried out. This result showed satisfactory correspondence with the model test. (Author)
