The report describes a pilot study to generally evaluate the Keystone Mark 4 Skid Resistance Tester and determine if such equipment could be used to complement the Missouri skid trailer. Although the portable tester had good repeatability and the results were not adversely affected by different operators or variations in the amount of water used to wet the surface, the correlation obtained between the portable tester and the Missouri skid trailer was generally unsatisfactory.
