Problems of designing underwater remote controlled vehicles equipped with manipulator or devices, a fast-developing means of ocean exploration, were considered. An attempt is made at an integrated approach to studying the system underwater remote controlled device-manipulator. The usefulness of formulating generalized principles for building remote controlled systems for underwater vehicles based on manipulators is noted. Heavy stress is given to analyzing the multidimensional structure of manipulators, serving as the primary working equipment in underwater remote controlled vehicles. (Author)
