A real-time module is presented in this paper which is used to track vehicles for the navigation of an autonomous vehicle moving along motorways. Taking a video stream from a standard camera as the input, this module tracks the preceding vehicles and output their positions and speed relative to the host autonomous vehicle. Using Intel's MMX technology, the module is designed to work in real-time on PC platforms.
