This paper focuses on the parameter matching and CVT's target speed ratio optimization for plug in hybrid electric vehicle. After matching the engine's parameters, ISG motor's parameters, the battery's parameters and the speed ratio of the final drive, the target speed ratio of CVT is optimized through the instantaneous optimization algorithm. Finally, the rule based control strategy is built, and the vehicle's power performance and economy of energy consumption is simulated basing on MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results show that the parameters matching of the powertrain system's components meets the design requirements of the power performance, and the optimized target speed ratio of CVT significantly improves the vehicle's economy of energy consumption, compared with the original CVT target speed ratio.
