Smart Systems are rapidly increasing in the automobile industry for Transportation, and became as the solution for road safety. Due to the heavy growth in mediums of transportation everywhere, a drastic increase of road accidents is noticed. Vehicles entrenched with excess sensors facilitate us to detect the accidents, tracks the location of accidents and notifies the nearby hospital, police forces and the family members about the accident.The systems that include a sensor, GPS and GSM module etc., can detect the accident. But they are more expensive to install in the vehicles and most of the vehicles may not support them. So, this problem can overcome with accident detection system based on Internet of Things. This system aims to provide the safety to the people in the vehicle using advanced characteristics of Smartphones with low cost.In this situation, an Android application has been developed to collect data about speed, density, and location. LiDAR is also used to monitor the surrounding environment and vehicles moving around it. The speed is used to identify the accidents or possibility of accident in particular location. It occurs because of alterations in climatic stipulations. The data obtained is then measured to sense road accidents. Additionally, navigation system is created to convey the situation to the closest hospital, rescue team and family members.
