DE 10322591 A UPAB: 20040115 NOVELTY - The geometry is recorded using a video camera. Spacing of each image point of the current camera image is determined. The camera is moveable relative to the geometry and/or has a zoom lens. Data is prepared to represent the relative position of the camera and/or the zoom setting. The three dimensional geometry is reconstructed using the camera image, the spacing information and the tracking data. It is optically displayed. USE - To reconstruct and display three-dimensional geometries. Among diverse possible applications, endoscopic systems are exemplified. ADVANTAGE - Improved visualization of 3D geometries taken with 2D video cameras is achieved. The geometries are e.g. objects or scenes. The 3D space is scanned with pixel precision. The position of a person in a space can be determined, and also what is done, because hand and head position are accurately determined, in accordance with camera resolution.
