The present invention relates to an electric brake apparatus and a control method thereof. According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, Provided is the electric brake apparatus of a vehicle, comprising: a regenerative braking unit containing a high voltage battery and generating a regenerative braking power corresponding to a regeneration braking signal; an Electro-Mechanical Brake (EMB) including a motor and including a plurality of wheel brakes for braking front and rear wheels; a wheel Electronic Control Unit (ECU), which controls the motor so that an electric brake generates a friction braking force corresponding to a friction braking signal; a sensor unit which detects a braking input of the vehicle and senses a voltage of the high voltage battery; a center ECU which generates the regeneration braking signal and the friction braking signal corresponding to the braking input, does not generate the regeneration braking signal when a state of charge of the high voltage battery exceeds a certain value, and generates the regeneration braking signal only when the state of charge of the high voltage battery is equal to or less than the certain value; and a plurality of batteries supplying a power to a wheel control unit and the central control unit. An objective of the present invention is to secure stability when braking the vehicle.
본 개시의 일 실시예에 의하면, 고전압 배터리(high voltage battery)를 포함하고, 회생제동신호(regeneration braking signal)에 상응하는 회생제동력을 발생시키는 회생제동부(regenerative braking unit); 모터를 포함하고, 전륜 및 후륜을 제동하는 복수의 휠브레이크(wheel brake)를 포함하는 전동식 브레이크(EMB: Electro-Mechanical Brake); 전동식 브레이크가 마찰제동신호(friction braking signal)에 상응하는 마찰제동력을 발생시키도록 모터를 제어하는 차륜 제어부(wheel ECU: Electronic Control Unit); 차량의 제동입력을 감지하고, 고전압 배터리의 전압을 감지하는 센서부(sensor unit); 제동입력에 상응하는 회생제동신호 및 마찰제동신호를 생성하되, 고전압 배터리의 충전상태(State of Charge)가 일정값을 초과하는 경우 회생제동신호를 생성하지 않고, 고전압 배터리의 충전상태가 일정값 이하인 경우에만 회생제동신호를 생성하는 중앙제어부(center ECU); 및 차륜 제어부 및 중앙제어부에 전원(power)을 공급하는 복수의 배터리(battery)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 차량의 전동식 브레이크 장치를 제공한다.
