The present invention discloses a speed limit management system and a method. According to the present invention, a road surface friction coefficient is calculated by taking into account a road geometry, a type of road pavement, and a road surface condition for each road in a running road in a running road provided by GIS analysis, and a set vehicle speed is provided based on a braking distance derived based on the calculated road surface friction coefficient and a correction distance according to climate information. Therefore, a vehicle speed limit in response to fluctuating weather changes in real time can be quickly managed, and the set vehicle speed limit can be intuitively guided to a driver.

    본 발명은 제한 속도 관리 시스템 및 방법이 개시되어 있다. 이러한 본 발명에 따르면, GIS분석을 통해 제공된 주행 중인 도로의 구간별 도로 기하 구조와 도로 포장 종류와 노면 상태를 고려하여 도로의 노면 마찰 계수를 연산하고 연산된 노면 마찰 계수를 토대로 도출된 제동 거리 및 기후 정보에 따른 시정 거리를 토대로 설정된 차량 제한 속도를 제공함에 따라 실시간으로 변동하는 기상 변화에 응답하여 차량 제한 속도를 신속하게 관리할 수 있고 설정된 차량 제한 속도를 직관적으로 운전자에게 안내할 수 있게 된다.
