The present invention relates to a sound absorbing material for a tire to which a Helmholtz resonator is applied. The disclosed sound absorbing material for the tire to which the Helmholtz resonator is applied may comprise: a plurality of bodies coupled to opposite surfaces of a tire tread; a first resonance chamber formed inside the bodies; a first passage connecting the first resonance chamber to the outside of the bodies; a plurality of second resonance chambers formed on inner sidewalls of the bodies; and a plurality of second passages connecting the first resonance chamber to the second resonance chamber. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce road noise through effective absorption of a cavity resonance sound inside the tire. An objective of the present invention is to provide the sound absorbing material for the tire to which the Helmholtz resonator is applied, which can be attached to the inside of the tire.
