To provide a friction characteristic measurement method and friction characteristic measurement device for tires capable of measurement under conditions closer to actual running conditions, while suppressing increased costs and man-hours for measurement.SOLUTION: A friction characteristic measurement device 1 is a device for measuring friction characteristics of tires and includes a running body that is a four-wheel drive vehicle. Front wheels 14,15 receive a supply of running driving force from a motor 11. Rear wheels 19,20 receive a supply of running driving force from a motor 16. In the device 1, a controller 42 controls the motors 11,16 for the front and rear wheels so that the running speed of the running body and the rotational peripheral speed of the rear wheels 19,20 are relatively different in the state where the running speed is approximately constant. For each difference between the running speed and the rotational peripheral speed of the rear wheels 19,20, the controller 42 calculates a slip ratio and friction force of tires 25,27 at the rear wheels 19,20 and generates data on the friction characteristics of the tires 25,27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】計測のためのコスト上昇および工数増加を抑制しながら、実際の走行条件により近い状態での計測が可能なタイヤの摩擦特性計測方法および摩擦特性計測装置を提供する。【解決手段】摩擦特性計測装置1は、タイヤの摩擦特性を計測する装置であって、四輪駆動車である走行体を備える。前輪14,15は、モータ11から走行駆動力の供給を受ける。後輪19,20は、モータ16から走行駆動力の供給を受ける。装置1は、走行速度が略一定の状態で、コントローラ42が走行体の走行速度と後輪19,20の回転周速とが相対的に差異を有するように前後輪用モータ11,16を制御する。コントローラ42は、走行速度と後輪19,20の回転周速との差異毎に、後輪19,20におけるタイヤ25,27のスリップ比と摩擦力とを算出し、タイヤ25,27の摩擦特性に関するデータを生成する。【選択図】図1
