To provide a friction characteristic measurement method and a friction characteristic measurement device for a tire that enable a measurement in a state closer to an actual driving condition while controlling a cost and man-hour required for the measurement.SOLUTION: A friction characteristic measurement device 1 for a tire is a device for a four-wheel drive vehicle. A rear wheel 20 is equipped with the tire that is larger in diameter than a front wheel 15. The device 1 measures the tire mounted on the rear 20 wheel. A coupling 17 is interposed in a propeller shaft 16. A magnitude of fastening force of the coupling 17 is set to an arbitrary value based on a command from a fastening force setting section 28. The device 1 is equipped with body speed measurement sections 21-23, wheel angular velocity measurement sections 24, 25, shaft torque measurement sections 26, 27, and a controller 29. The controller 29 generates data pertaining to a friction characteristic of the tire mounted on the rear wheel 20 from a shaft torque and rotational peripheral speed of the rear wheel 20 and the magnitude of the fastening force of the coupling 17.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】計測のためのコストおよび工数を抑制しながら、実際の走行状態により近い状態での計測が可能なタイヤの摩擦特性計測方法および摩擦特性計測装置を提供する。【解決手段】タイヤの摩擦特性計測装置1は、四輪駆動車を用いた装置である。後輪20には、前輪15よりも大径のタイヤが装着されている。装置1は、後輪20に装着されたタイヤを計測対象とする。プロペラシャフト16にはカップリング17が介挿されている。カップリング17の締結力は締結力設定部28からの指令に基づき締結力の大きさが任意の値に設定される。装置1は、車体速度計測部21~23、車輪角速度計測部24,25、軸トルク計測部26,27と、コントローラ29とを備える。コントローラ29は、後輪20の軸トルクと回転周速度、およびカップリング17の締結力の大きさより、後輪20に装着されたタイヤの摩擦特性に係るデータを生成する。【選択図】図1
