To improve the performance of object identification by suppressing erroneous recognition regardless of whether a distance from a moving object to an object is near or far.SOLUTION: An object identification device includes: a distance calculation unit 22 for receiving external information including an object outside a vehicle acquired by an external information acquisition unit 1 mounted on the vehicle to obtain the distance from the vehicle to the object; an identification score calculation unit 23 for acquiring an identification score showing a confidence level at which an object included in the external information is of a given type by use of the external information; and an object identification unit 26 for identifying that the object is a type associated with the identification score in the case that the identification score exceeds a predetermined threshold 71.
