To prevent behavior of an own vehicle traveling on a target travel trajectory from getting unstable due to frequency of a yaw rate.SOLUTION: In a vehicle speed control method, a target travel trajectory of an own vehicle is set; resonance frequency of a yaw rate of the own vehicle is calculated on the basis of a motion characteristic value of the own vehicle; and a target vehicle speed when the own vehicle travels on the target travel trajectory is set so that frequency of the yaw rate while the own vehicle travels on the target travel trajectory becomes less than the resonance frequency (S2, S3, S17 and S18). Also, in the vehicle speed control method, a vehicle speed of the own vehicle is controlled on the basis of the target vehicle speed (S4).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9

    【課題】目標走行軌道上を走行する自車両の挙動がヨーレイトの周波数によって不安定になるのを抑制する。【解決手段】車速制御方法では、自車両の目標走行軌道を設定し、自車両の運動特性値に基づいて自車両のヨーレイトの共振周波数を算出し、自車両が目標走行軌道上を走行する目標車速を、自車両が前記目標走行軌道上を走行中のヨーレイトの周波数が共振周波数未満となるように設定し(S2、S3、S17、S18)、目標車速に基づいて自車両の車速を制御する(S4)。【選択図】図9
