To provide a spline telescopic shaft which can secure backlash tightening between shafts, and can suppress slide resistance at the relative movement of the shafts in an axial line direction, and provide a steering device.SOLUTION: An intermediate shaft has a female shaft 30, a male shaft 40 and a sleeve 50. The sleeve 50 has a female-side abutment part 54 extending from an external peripheral face, and abutting on an internal peripheral face of the female shaft 30, and a male-side abutment part 55 extending from an internal peripheral face, and abutting on an external peripheral face of the male shaft 40. The abutment parts 54, 55 are arranged in positions in which positions in an axial line direction X differ from each other. Then, the sleeve 50 has a non-abutment part 56 which does not abut on any of both faces of the internal peripheral face of the female shaft 30 and the external peripheral face of the male shaft 40 in a state of being caulked so as to reduce a clearance between the shafts 30, 40 from an external peripheral face of the female shaft 30 between the abutment parts 54, 55 in the axial line direction X.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8

    【課題】各シャフトの間のがた詰めが疎かになることを抑えつつ、各シャフトが相対的に軸線方向へ移動する際の摺動抵抗を小さく抑えることができるスプライン伸縮軸及びステアリング装置を提供する。【解決手段】インタミシャフトは、雌シャフト30と、雄シャフト40と、スリーブ50とを有している。スリーブ50は、外周面から延びて雌シャフト30の内周面に当接する雌側当接部54と、内周面から延びて雄シャフト40の外周面に当接する雄側当接部55とを有している。各当接部54,55は、軸線方向Xにおける位置が互いに異なる位置に設けられている。そして、スリーブ50について、軸線方向Xにおける各当接部54,55の間には、雌シャフト30の外周面から各シャフト30,40の隙間を小さくするようにかしめられた状態で雌シャフト30の内周面と雄シャフト40の外周面の両面のいずれにも当接しない非当接部56を有するようにしている。【選択図】図8
