To provide a solenoid valve capable of discharging air from a space in which a plunger is housed, as an example.SOLUTION: A solenoid valve includes: a housing which has a first flow channel, a housing chamber, and a second flow channel positioned between the first flow channel and the housing chamber, and in which the first flow channel has an openable seat; a coil; a plunger which has a first end surface, a second end surface, and a side surface, and is provided with a groove open toward the second end surface and the side surface, and a recessed portion recessed from an inner surface of the groove at an end portion of the groove in a first direction, and which plunger is positioned in the housing chamber; a valve member which is positioned between the seat and the plunger, closes the first flow channel by contacting with the seat, or causes the first flow channel to communicate with the second flow channel by being separated from the seat, and which valve member is energized in a second direction by the plunger energized by magnetic field; and an energization member energizing the valve member in the first direction by elastic force.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
