To provide a position detection method and device and an operation management system and method capable of surely detecting a position of a railroad vehicle even under a special environment such as transportation of molten iron.SOLUTION: An operation management system 1 includes: an on-vehicle device 10 installed on a power vehicle 2 traveling on an exclusive track RL; and a central control device 50 communicating with the on-vehicle device and controlling the operation of the power vehicle. The on-vehicle device includes: a position measuring unit 12 acquiring measured position information of the power vehicle based on a radio wave signal transmitted from an artificial satellite GS; and a position acquisition unit 13 acquiring position information in a non-contact manner from a position identification device 30 when traveling over the position identification device installed on the exclusive track RL, wherein a vehicle position on the exclusive track RL is specified based on the measured position information and the position information, and vehicle body information of the power vehicle is transmitted to the central control device together with the specified vehicle position of the power vehicle. A monitoring device 54 of the central control device generates operation management information provided for managing the operation of the power vehicle based on the vehicle position and the vehicle body information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】溶銑を輸送する等の特殊な環境下であっても、確実に鉄道車両の位置を検出することが可能な位置検出方法及び装置並びに運行管理システム及び方法を提供する。【解決手段】運行管理システム1は、専用軌道RL上を走行する動力車両2に設置された車上装置10と、車上装置との間で通信を行い動力車両の運行を制御する中央制御装置50を備える。車上装置は、人工衛星GSから送信される電波信号に基づき動力車両の測位位置情報を取得する位置測位部12と、専用軌道RLに敷設された位置識別器30上を走行した際に位置識別器から非接触で位置情報を取得する位置取得部13と、測位位置情報及び位置情報に基づき専用軌道RL上の車両位置を特定し、特定した動力車両の車両位置と共に動力車両の車体情報を中央制御装置に送信する。中央制御装置の監視装置54は、車両位置及び車体情報に基づき、動力車両の運行の管理に供する運行管理情報を生成する。【選択図】図1
