To provide a method of accurately estimating a degree of wear of a tire while travelling regardless of tire wear shape.SOLUTION: A degree of wear of a tire is estimated using an index of a deformation speed at an edge of tire contact patch or near the edge of tire contact patch, the index being calculated from magnitude or magnitudes of one or both of positive and negative peaks appearing in a radial acceleration waveform obtained by differentiating a time-series waveform of tire radial acceleration detected by an acceleration sensor mounted on the tire, a ground contact time ratio which is a ratio of a ground contact time with respect to a rotation time of the tire, the ground contact time being a time interval between the positive peak and the negative peak, the rotation time being a time interval of peaks of either one of the positive and negative peaks, and a deflection amount which is a difference between a tire radius and an effective radius, the tire radius being the radius of the tire when the tire is free of load, the effective radius being the radius of the tire while travelling.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5

    【課題】タイヤの摩耗形状に係らず、走行中のタイヤの摩耗の度合いを精度よく推定できる方法を提供する。【解決手段】タイヤに装着された加速度センサーにより検出したタイヤ径方向加速度の時系列波形を微分した径方向加速度波形に出現する正負のピークのいずれか一方もしくは両方の大きさから算出されたタイヤ接地端部またはタイヤ接地端部近傍における変形速度の指標と、前記正のピークと負のピークとの時間間隔である接地時間と前記正負のピークのいずれか一方のピークの時間間隔である前記タイヤの回転時間との比である接地時間比と、前記タイヤの無荷重時の半径であるタイヤ半径と前記タイヤの走行時の半径である有効半径との差であるたわみ量とを用いて、前記タイヤの摩耗の度合いを推定するようにした。【選択図】図5
