To provide: a method for manufacturing a rivet joint structure that can provide a structure having higher cross tension strength; and a rivet joint structure and automobile components that have higher cross tension strength.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a rivet joint structure comprises the steps of: inserting a metal rivet 110 into a plurality of members 100 and 100' formed with through holes; and sandwiching the rivet 110 between a pair of electrodes 150 and 150', pressurizing the rivet and energizing the pair of electrodes 150 and 150' to generate resistance heat in the rivet 110 in a state where a gap is generated between a member, closest to a head portion 112 in a direction along an axis of the shaft portion 111, of the plurality of members 100 and 100' and the head portion 112, so as to form a deformed portion 117 at an end portion of the shaft portion 111 on a side where the head portion 112 is not provided, as well as to radially expand a part of the shaft portion 111 to the gap to form a radially expanded portion 118.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】十字引張強さがより高い構造を提供可能なリベット接合継手構造の製造方法、並びに、十字引張強さがより高いリベット接合継手構造および自動車部品を提供する。【解決手段】通し穴が形成された複数の部材100および100’に金属製のリベット110を挿通する工程と、リベット110を一対の電極150および150’で挟み、軸部111の軸線に沿った方向において複数の部材100および100’のうちで頭部112に最も近い部材と頭部112との間に隙間を生じさせた状態で、リベットを加圧しかつ一対の電極150および150’に通電してリベット110に抵抗発熱を生じさせることにより、頭部112が設けられていない方の軸部111の端部に変形部117を形成しかつ、軸部111の一部を隙間へ拡径させて拡径部118を形成する工程と、を備えるリベット接合継手構造の製造方法。【選択図】図4
