To provide: a method for manufacturing a rivet joint structure that can manufacture a junction having high cross tension strength (CTS) and high tensile shear strength (TSS); and a rivet joint structure and automobile components that a junction having high CTS and TSS.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a rivet joint structure according to one embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: inserting a metal rivet into through holes of a plurality of stacked plate materials; sandwiching the rivet between a pair of electrodes; pressurizing and energizing the rivet through the pair of the electrodes to cause the inside of the rivet to melt as well as the tip of a shaft portion of the rivet to deform; and cooling the rivet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
