To provide a vehicular control device and method capable of further improving drivability and fuel economy when a driving force source is controlled by using other parameters in addition to an accelerator opening.SOLUTION: A vehicular control device 200 includes: a target torque determination section 110 determining target torque of a driving force source by using at least an accelerator opening; and an assist torque determination section 220 determining assist torque by using a parameter other than the accelerator opening in addition to the accelerator opening. The target torque determination section 110 determines the target torque on the basis of the assist torque obtained by the assist torque determination section 220 in addition to the accelerator opening. The assist torque determination section 220 includes an assist torque suppression section (coefficient table T41, multiplication part 201) reducing a value of the assist torque in accordance with an increase in vehicle speed or an increase in actual acceleration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
