To provide a series hybrid type or electric type railcar which enables higher riding quality.SOLUTION: In a series hybrid type railcar provided by attaching an engine 60 and a power generator 70 to a frame 134, the engine 60 and the power generator 70 are connected and supported at three points on their side surfaces by a first bracket 141 and a second bracket 144 that are hanging brackets. The first bracket 141 and the second bracket 144 are engaged with the frame 134 through primary vibration control rubber 138. Further, the frame 134 is attached to a lower part of an underframe 11 of a vehicle body 10 through secondary vibration control rubber 137. The engine 60 and the power generator 70 are disposed so that their axes are arranged parallel to a sleeper direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
